Las Vegas - The Frontier Is Faceless

In order to amplify the significance of this post, there is no accompanying photograph. (Not today anyway.)

The "face" of The Frontier is gone. I am referring to that remaining front wall of The Frontier which can be seen in the last few posts on this blog.

The north entrance, which was near the arrow sign, is gone, completely. No doors, no walls, no entryway, no executive office rotary telephones.

The attached front wall going all the way to the front valet area is gone. The front entrance is gone.

It is all gone, except for the skeleton of the remaining (shorter) hotel buildings, and the sign.

Las Vegas - Frontier Demolition - Executive Office Phone

There is nothing much left, in a tangible sense, of the interior of The Frontier. There are still some sections of outer wall which remain up, (as a shield between pedestrian traffic and the demolition work occurring on the other side of the wall), but it is nothing more than an empty face; like the bank building at Rhyolite.

Photographing the north entrance, I saw something interesting in the rubble. A traditional rotary wall phone, with a sign above it: EXECUTIVE OFFICE.

Astounding!

I love traditional rotary phones, but I'm nostalgic. It is amazing to me that on The Strip, this phone with sign, lasted to 2007.

Las Vegas - Frontier Demolition - Phils Angus Steakhouse

The final days of December 2007 are here, and The Frontier is still in the process of being razed.

Phil's Angus Steakhouse at The Frontier had an entrance path and sign on the Las Vegas Boulevard side, not far from the north doors. That section of building has recently been semi-demolished.

Las Vegas - Stardust and Frontier Flashback

Prior to the implosion of The Stardust hotel buildings, many of the surrounding structures were razed. This photo shows The Frontier as seen from The Stardust before The Stardust was imploded. Now both are gone.

A Las Vegas QuickShot of the progress of Project City Center as seen yesterday from west of Interstate 15.

Frontier Las Vegas - Front Valet Entrance

The main entrance of The Frontier (Las Vegas Boulevard side) with parking valet roof area has finally been demolished. As well the north double door entrance appeared ready for demolition early yesterday afternoon, and may have been razed by now.

I drove past yesterday but as of right now do not have photos of this development to post.

Las Vegas Fatburger Under Construction

A Fatburger is under construction on Industrial Road at Stardust Road. The area is seedy, so I would advise driving, not walking, (especially at night). This location is not far from The Strip, as long as one has wheels.

There is also a Fatburger located on The Strip; just north of the Walgreens which is across from NYNY and The Monte Carlo.

When the new Fatburger opens, I will post notice.

Be advised that in some areas Industrial Road is called Dean Martin.

Frontier Las Vegas - Demolition Continues - 7 Dec 2007

The demolition of The Frontier continues. Here are 4 shots I took on Friday 7 December 2007.

The north wall is down. Only the entrance door area remains on the north side. The wall which had the giant Gilley's ad (and 2 others) has been knocked down.

The front entrance doors remain, but there is nothing behind it. Look through the doors and you will see that you are looking right back outside again.
